The Chicago Department of Aviation celebrated the completion of the historic Midway Airport Terminal Development Program, an eight year program that transformed Chicago’s southwest side airport. Midway International Airport was awarded the 2004 Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Public Innovator Award for Physical Design.Throughout the redevelopment of Midway, the airport experienced record-breaking growth, and today remains one of the fastest growing airports in the nation.

Midway International Airport is the premier point-to-point airport in the nation and an economic engine for the region, generating close to $7 billion in economic activity each year and 90,000 jobs.
